General Information

DJAD Undergraduate programme (4 years) is offered in Communication Design and Industrial Design streams.

  • Admission for Undergraduate Programme is offered to students on the basis of the scores obtained in the entrance examination conducted by DJ Academy of Design in the major metropolitan cities across the country followed by a personal interview conducted at the campus in Coimbatore.
  • Scores obtained in the entrance examination conducted by NID*, Ahmedabad will also be considered for admission at DJAD.
  • The entrance examinations will test the design aptitude of applicants with the objective of measuring their skills in Sketching, Visualisation, Creativity and Colour.
  • The students who qualify for personal interview must present a portfolio of their work to the panel of selection jury. Portfolio could include any creative work done by the student (such as drawings, paintings, photographs, films/videos made by the student, craft work, project, models, written work such as articles, stories, essays, poems, etc.
  • Call for new admissions are announced in DJAD website during the month of October/ November.

General Information

DJAD Postgraduate programme offers specialisations in Industrial Design (ID), Communication Design (CD) and Interaction Design (IxD)

  • Admission for Postgraduate Programme is offered to students on the basis of the scores obtained in the entrance examination conducted by DJ Academy of Design in the major metropolitan cities across the country followed by a personal interview conducted at the campus in Coimbatore.
  • Scores obtained in the entrance examination conducted by NID*, Ahmedabad  and Score of CEED* (Common Entrance Examination for Design) IIT would be considered for entry into postgraduate Programmes at DJAD.
  • The entrance examinations will test the design aptitude of applicants with the objective of measuring their skills in Sketching, Visualisation, Creativity and Colour.

Admissions > International Students

DJAD has limited seats available for overseas students as it believes in a healthy cross-cultural interaction. Overseas candidates applying for admission into Undergraduate Programme or Postgraduate Programme in Design can download/send their application and may attend admission tests at any prescribed test centers in India. Short-listed candidates will be intimated to attend interview and portfolio review in May at DJAD campus in Coimbatore.

  • Tuition Fee for NRI/SAARC Students: Us$ 6000 per annum. Rest of the fees remains same as Indian students.
  • Tuition Fee for Other Foreign Students: Us$ 9000 per annum. Rest of the fees remain same as Indian students Fees are likely to increase by 10 to 15% every year.
  • Fees can be paid through Demand Draft drawn in favour of DJ Academy of Design payable at Coimbatore or can make direct payment through Indian Bank, Pappanaickenpalayam Branch having IFS Code No. IDIB 000P018 and Account No. 471015136.

Admissions > Scholarship & Loans

DJAD awards limited number of scholarships to befitting students under the following norms from 2nd year onwards,

  1. Only DJAD students with family income of less than Rs. 5 lac per annum are eligible to apply.
  2. Students must submit “Form-16” of the both parents, along with the application form.
  3. From among the lot of students with less than Rs.5 lac p.a, the most deserving and needy students will be selected, based on their attitude and academic performance.
  4. Scholarship will be given to meet 80% of the tuition fees.
  5. The decision taken by the members of the scholarship committee would be final and binding.
  6. Any student submitting false information/documents will be expelled from the institute and the scholarship granted will be collected with interest.

DJAD students may approach Indian Bank for education loan. Considering the reputation of the Academy, Indian Bank’s Coimbatore Zonal Office has advised all its branches across India to consider loan applications from DJAD students on merit.
