He has 30+ years of rich experience in Design, Development, Engineering, Research and allied fields working in industry as well as academics. For many years he was holding a key position in VIP Industries Ltd. Nasik. Under his leadership the company could establish its position as one of the top design driven companies in the country.

In academics, he was holding a top position in SoDS – School of Design studies, University of Petroleum at Dehradun. It was a greenfield project, which was established by him from scratch in record time of 2 years. He was also holding the position of Director at Symbiosis Institute of Design in Pune.

He has track record of hundreds of successful, global and national product launches of innovative products developed Art-2- Part to his credit. He has contributed immensely in establishing innovative image to brands like VIP & Princeware.

In industry, he held key positions in the design & research functions in India at Tata Autocomp, VIP Industries, Blowplast Ergo, Prince Plastics, Gujarat Narmada Auto Ltd. etc.

He is an excellent trainer and has been nurturing creativity & innovations over the years of his vast field experience. Hundreds of successful designers and engineers today have been trained under him over the period of his professional working. This has become possible as over the years he himself has received professional training in various disciplines and topics ranging from Costing to Creativity. Many of them have been successfully practiced & implemented in day to day working.

He has 8 patents on his name today as innovator & his professional work has received ‘Engineering Achievement Award –1997’ from Institute of Engineers, India & Prestigious National level ‘Golden Peacock Innovation Award –2004’ on behalf of VIP.

C Mohan has completed his Industrial Design from National Institute of Design, Ahmedabad. He loves painting and thinks most of the time about school education. He started his career as a partner of a design firm at Chennai where he has worked on exhibition projects with MMDA, interior design projects with fashion stores and other graphic design assignments. He then moved on to teaching at the accessory design department at NIFT, New Delhi, wherein he also was trained at the Gemological Institute of America in Jewellery Manufacturing Arts.

He then set off to starting his own school with unconventional education system. During this time he was also teaching at the Visual Communication design department of CSI Bishop Appasamy College of Arts and Science, at Coimbatore.

Later he moved to the accessory Design Department of NIFT, Bangalore where he was the Chairperson of the program. He then joined ‘Human factors International’ at Pondicherry and trained himself to be a CUA – ‘Certified Usability Analyst’. Over the years he has also been doing product design and graphics design assignment with various companies in India and abroad.

Sudhakar has 22 years of entrepreneurial and corporate experience serving clients in India and internationally. Prior to DJAD he was Head-User Experience Design, at Infosys, specifically tasked with scaling Innovation Thinking, and Innovation Attitude within the group.  He has lead a number of marquee projects at Infosys for the global best, and has many innovative projects in Interaction Design to his credit.

He is active in curriculum advisory committees and on the lecture circuit. He continues to mentor innovation-led start-ups in the digital technology space.

Kanaka Ananth has been in the board of advisor of the CHILD magazine which is part of the transasia group, USA. She was a faculty for design at NID, Ahmedabad and has previously worked with companies such as Creative Educational aids Pvt Ltd (Delhi), Funskool India Ltd (Chennai), before taking up a teaching position with D.J. Academy of Design, Coimbatore.

She has numerous games to her credit, that are available in the market such as Fast Track, Amazing Me, Buddies, Maths Whiz ,Discover Ramayana, Discover Mahabharata etc. She has extensive experience working with kids, has conducted multiple workshops on creative design and thinking for students at various schools and colleges in cities such as Bangalore, Chennai and Coimbatore. Workshops hosted by Kanaka cover a wide range of topics.

Subramanya has 15 years of experience in User Experience Design, Craft and Architecture. Prior to DJAD, he has worked as a UX Designer at Honeywell Technology Solutions and Philips Electronics India Limited, in strategizing and implementing UX strategies across various domains including Automation and control solutions, Healthcare and automobile. He has conducted ‘Design Awareness’ workshops to sensitize the organization towards UX Design at different levels.

He has also worked with Banaras Toy makers as part of the project ‘Frugal Innovation in Design and Technology’, IIT Kanpur to upgrade artisan skills in design and technology.

Along with teaching in DJ Academy of Design, he is also researching on ‘Role of External representations in Ideation’ as a PhD research scholar at Industrial Design Centre, IIT Bombay.
